  Having a support system as you prepare for the CPTD exam can have a big impact on your success and we're here for you! 

  Central Massachusetts ATD is hosting a study group for current CPTD candidates pursuing certification.

  Details

  • This will be a rolling 13-week schedule, where you can join anytime depending on your goal, and just continue.
  • The schedule will repeat every 13 weeks, so join whenever is best for you and your specific goals.
  • We meet on Tuesdays from 7 - 9 over Zoom.

  Cost: $50 USD for non-members and general public, $35 to Central Massachusetts ATD members and chapter affiliates

  What To Expect:
  The study group sessions are typically structured as follows:

  • 13 weekly sessions focused on the three capability areas
  • The virtual (Zoom) study group sessions are meant to supplement your independent study. The sessions provide a chance to reinforce knowledge through discussion, clarification of key points, shared resources, and key test taking strategies. Each study group session is moderated by one or more facilitators from the CMATD chapter
  • This group is a great way to keep accountable and also get encouragement!
  • Most sessions will count as 1 hour of Professional Development towards meeting the certification requirements (announced at the start of each session)
  • Certified CPTDs and experts in the capability areas may be scheduled as guest speakers during an individual study group session. 

  Study Materials:

  No study materials are provided specifically from this study group.  We are using the Talent Development Body of Knowledge (TDBok) as the group textbook and all members must have access.  If purchasing these resources, please include the code CH1201 which will provide a credit to the Central Massachusetts chapter.   Every year, National ATD hosts their incredible conference, and this year Venus Williams and, recently added, Matthew McConaughey.

  In concert with National ATD, our chapter is able to provide additional discounts on the registration fees but we need to have at least 5 people signed up or be interested to get those discounts for you. 

  Whether you're signed up already or interested in going to the National Conference, please let us know with your name and contact info. The codes will be returned via the immediate email confirmation - watch your mailbox as sometimes these confirmations go to Update, Spam, or other location.

  You don't have to be a member of National ATD to take advantage of this offer! If you've already signed up and paid for the conference, let us know and we'll  try to get the difference refunded to you if we get the team of 5 people.

Will wrote the award-winning book Performance-Focused Learner Surveys (second edition) and the CEO’s Guide to Training, eLearning & Work: Empowering Learning for a Competitive Advantage (2024). Will created LTEM, the Learning-Transfer Evaluation Model and conducts popular workshops like the LTEM Boot Camp. This will be an interactive session so please bring your situations and scenarios to share so we can connect the dots between theory and skills and practice.

  2. Grasp what effective leadership and negotiation looks like (and to dispel popular myths)

  Dr. Joshua N. Weiss is a negotiation and conflict resolution expert, Senior Fellow at the Harvard Negotiation Project and the co-founder of the Global Negotiation Initiative at Harvard University. He is also the Director of the MS in Leadership and Negotiation at Bay Path University.
