CMATD OD in Healthcare, Special Interest Group (SIG)

 

The CMATD OD in Healthcare, Special Interest Group (SIG) resumed regular meetings in September.  The multitude of challenges facing healthcare organizations today is enormous.  As OD professionals we are on the front lines of managing change initiatives, shaping emerging leaders, and fostering innovation.

 

November Topic:

Patient Centered Medical Home with Christine Johnson facilitating

  • What is the Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH)?
  • What difference does the PCMH make?
  • Open discussion on some recent trends of the PCMH in Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs).

 

Facilitator Bio: Christine Johnson

 

Christine Johnson received her PhD from Boston University in Sociology (specializing in organizational development and medical sociology). She most recently served at Commonwealth Medicine, UMass Medical School as the Transformation and QI Director for the MA Patient Centered Medical Home Initiative and the MA Primary Care Payment Reform. In her role at Commonwealth Medicine she provided leadership in strategic planning, stakeholder alignment, practice redesign facilitation, and quality improvement while presenting nationally and locally on health care reform topics. Additionally, Christine served as expert transformation consultant to the Rhode Island multi-payer initiative as well as developed and facilitated a leadership institute for physician executives. Before joining the UMass team she led two major million dollar plus projects (Baltimore, MD and Providence, RI) to transform primary care and primary care based multi-specialty organizations into high-performing, patient centered groups. She was one of three original medical home facilitators on the National Demonstration Project launched by the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) in 2006 and has served as an expert national consultant to health care projects throughout the country. Her work has included developing, organizing and implementing highly successful coach training programs for medical practice redesign.

Advocates office at 1881 Worcester Road Suite 103, Framingham, MA.  This is an office building on the westbound side of Route 9 near the Sheraton Tara. It is right next to the Hess gas station. The building has a parking lot.
