Speak Up?! Encouraging Dissent to Improve Decision Making

Have you ever been in a meeting where you or others were afraid to speak up?  How successful were the decisions reached in those meetings?  We’ve all seen examples of organizations where the failure to speak up has had bad consequences, i.e. failed projects, bankruptcy, even disasters.

Join us for an interactive session focusing on the benefits from knowing how to create the conditions for effective decision making in order to facilitate positive outcomes. Learn how to leverage dissenting opinions, how to influence leaders to create  conditions for optimal decision-making, and learn how to build capacity of teams and groups to speak up. If you are a trainer, facilitator, or consultant, this session is for you!

Abby Yanow is an Organizational Development consultant and President of the Boston Facilitators’ Roundtable.  She helps teams, boards and groups determine the conversations they need to have in order to solve problems and achieve their desired outcomes.  She is skilled in helping leaders and groups increase their effectiveness and their impact.  Abby combines strategic conversations with Action Learning, to increase the skills of teams to solve problems and to gain buy-in and commitment to decisions.
