Serving on the ATD Central Mass Chapter Board provides you with an unparalleled opportunity to contribute to and shape the direction of our Chapter. Board Leaders are expected to participate in monthly Board meetings and Chapter events (at no cost), as well as engage member volunteers in strategizing and leading their specific role. 

Board Leaders are elected to two-year terms, and must be a member in good standing of the ATD Central Mass Chapter and ATD National for the selected years.

ATD Central Mass Board Members qualify for several additional benefits through ATD National. 

  • ATD Central Mass Board Members receive discounts on ATD National Membership and an automatic upgrade to Professional Plus level ($439/yr value)

  • Invitation to ATD Chapter Leaders Conference (ALC) held in conjunction with ATD International Conference and Exposition each year. The chapter may provide some financial support to attend the conference

  • ATD International Conference and Exposition attendee benefits

    • Invitation to Chapter Leaders Day (the day before the conference begins)

    • Access to the Chapter Leader Lounge during the conference

    • Special seating for Conference Keynote speaker presentations

Vice President, Finance

The Vice President of Finance manages the operational finances of the chapter. He/She coordinates the budget and operational issues with other board members, as well as administrative services. He/She assures that chapter operations are in compliance with ATD's Chapter Affiliation Requirements (CARE).

Vice President, Programs

The Vice President, Programs oversees the chapter’s program committees and function that ensures relevant professional development sessions for our membership and constituents.

Vice President, Marketing and Communications

Promotes the Chapter events to the community in the development of membership.

Vice President, Volunteers

The Vice President of Volunteers oversees the chapter’s volunteer recruiting efforts, manages the matching of volunteers to volunteer opportunities, and guides the chapter’s succession planning efforts to ensure that all volunteer needs are met.

President - Elect  (Role is a stepping stone to the President role)

The President-Elect acts for the President in the President's absence or at the discretion or direction of the President, and will assume the President's role the following year and continues in an advisory role as Immediate Past President.  The President-Elect serves as Chair of the Nominating Committee, and facilitates planning in preparation for his or her term as President.

Board of Directors:

Serving on the Board of Directors gives you an opportunity to guide the direction of the chapter and demonstrate leadership in our community.  It will also give you access to some of the best thought leaders in our industry and will give you leadership experience with a local ATD chapter.

** The position of President requires at least one year of service on the CMATD board. 

All positions on our Board of Directors require a two-year commitment, with the exception of the President-Elect and President.  

Chapter leaders receive a special discount rate for ATD membership and an upgrade to Professional Plus membership at no additional charge.
